Be glorified is a response to “who am I that you are mindful of me” and a declaration that the “The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, the world and all who live in it”. We can call on God in our respective languages, in every situation, knowing that he is omnipotent. We can praise him together, be creative together, God’s imperfect people rejoicing in their glorious God! A glory that covers us, that overshadows what is seen and foregrounds all the hope we have in Him! For all we hope for as individuals and a nation he is exceedingly able.
We wanted to rededicate the Land to God. Every Tribe, every Nation and every tongue. We loved the declarative nature of this song. This song also captures the ‘sound’ of South Africa. Being able to sing in Zulu, Afrikaans, English and Sotho creates a sense of pride and joy as we unite together glorifying God.
We hope that you can feel the unity on this song. We hope that people will focus their hearts, attention, lives and everything towards glorifying God, no matter our situation or circumstances. We hope that all of us as a nation, as diverse as we are will sing this song and glorify God together. Let us raise a mighty sound!
